To separate yourself from the crowd, you must do the opposite of average.
You can accelerate your journey from average to excellent by using these tips, strategies, and motivation to get a little better each day.
Aim for perfection.
If you want to be the best at anything, you must have a relentless commitment to perfection even though you will never be able to attain it.
Don’t be a victim.
People who point fingers at others and make excuses for why things did not work out like they wanted are making themselves out to be a victim.
Being the victim does not lead to success.
Instead of being a victim, take personal responsibility when things go wrong. Identify the issue and get to work fixing it.
Practice until you cannot get it wrong.
Amateurs do something until they get it right. Professionals do it until they can’t get it wrong.
This subtle difference is monumental.
Develop a positive inner voice. Positive self talk is requirement for success.
Everyone has doubts.
When your inner dialogue become negative, it challenges your confidence. A lack of confidence kills your chances for success.
To develop positive self talk, focus on what you want to happen, not what you are trying to avoid.
Whether you are playing rec sports or volunteering at the local food pantry, being actively engaged is an important part of building your success skills.
In these activities, you will face many emotionally challenging situations. You have to learn to use your own resources for coping.
The more you have to do this on your own, the better you will get.
Quote of the Week:
Don’t think that you can make up for it by working twice as hard tomorrow. If you have it within your power to work twice as hard, why aren’t you doing it now. – John Wooden
